Every product has a story.

Ours started with a stretch across the table and a super silly problem.

If you’ve ever played at a large round Mahjong table, you know the moment. A tile is called. You lean forward. Someone bumps a rack. Someone laughs. Someone says, “Can you pass that to me?”

And I remember thinking - there has to be a better way. For those playing at a larger table. For those with shorter arms. For those who don't want to bother your tablemates to move the wall closer or pass a tile.

That moment is where the Tile Taker was born.

A Real Moment at a Real Table

We weren’t trying to invent something flashy.

We were playing. We were laughing. We were reaching too far.

The flow of the game would pause for just a second while someone leaned across the table. It wasn’t dramatic. It was just… awkward.

So I started sketching.

What if there was a simple, beautiful tool that let you grab your tile without disrupting the table?

There wasn’t anything like that in Mahjong at the time.

So we made one.

The original Tile Taker.

Designed From the Inside Out

The first versions were tested at our own tables. With friends. During weekly games. With honest feedback.

We adjusted the length.
Refined the grip.
Balanced the feel in your hand.

It needed to be functional first.
And then beautiful.

Because Mahjong is tactile. It’s rhythmic. It’s sensory.

The Tile Taker became part of that rhythm.

A small detail that made the entire game feel smoother.

A Natural Evolution

Some products come from trend forecasts.

This one came from play. And a silly problem we needed to solve.

From a real need that showed up again and again during games.

We didn’t set out to create a product initially.
We simply solved a problem we were experiencing.

And once it was on the table, it stuck.

Just like our customer-favorite, patent-pending rack design, the Tile Taker was built to improve the experience of the game - thoughtfully and intentionally.
